Full description

January 1988. Fieldwalking.
Found by [1] north-west of Hethersett White House (finder's Area B).
2 Mesolithic cores, 2 core tablets, 1 'micro core', 3 blades and flakes.
Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU) 5 July 1988.
Compiled by W. Milligan (NCM) 12 April 1988.

27 March and April 1988. Fieldwalking.
Area examined by [1] on two further occasions:
Neolithic flint flakes and blades, 4 scrapers, 2 cores, 1 serrated blade and a soft-hammer struck flake from axe manufacture.
2 Mesolithic cores, 1 'micro core', 2 core tablets and 3 blades.
Identified by J. Wymer (NAU).
W. Milligan (NAU) 12 April 1988.

It is highly likely that many, if not all, of the Mesolithic finds listed in the second of the above two entries are duplicates of those listed in the first.

Finds from this site were subsequently donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1999.1.22.14). These are listed in the museum's records as:
2 Mesolithic flint cores, 2 core tablets, 3 blades, 1 'micro core' and flakes.
4 Neolithic scrapers, 2 cores, 1 serrated blade, 1 soft-hammer struck flake from axe production and a number of other flakes and blades.
P. Watkins (HES), 13 March 2014.
