Summary

Fieldwalking between 1986 and 2002 recovered ?Upper Palaeolithic, Neolithic/Bronze Age and undatable prehistoric worked flints and Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds. No objects of note were found on the one occasion that this field was subject to metal-detecting.

A flint wall of unknown date was revealed on the edge of Clipstreet Road in 1995.

Full description

1986 to 1987. Surface finds.
Two Roman greyware.
Five Thetford type including Grimston Thetford.
23 medieval unglazed.
7 glazed Grimston.
2 post medieval.

2 small blade like flint flakes.
One has a naturally pointed end which has minor retouch and wear; probably used as a piercer. The other is unmodified.
