Name:Multi period metal objects and pottery sherds

Summary

Metal detecting here in 1986-87 and 2001 recovered a large number of metalwork objects dating from the Bronze Age to post medieval period. The most interesting finds comprised a medieval Papal bull of Alexander IV, a medieval seal matrix with a bird motif, a Late Saxon disc brooch and a Roman brooch of the Colchester type.

1986-1987. Found with metal detector.
Much Roman, Early Saxon, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval metalwork and coins, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Early Saxon, Late Saxon sherds.
