Summary

In the late 1980s fieldwalking with a metal detector recovered a small number of objects, including some Roman pottery sherds, a Middle Saxon brooch, coins and some medieval and post medieval metal objects.

Full description

23 September 1986. On 100 ft contour above river south of Church Terrace. Found with metal detector and fieldwalking. [1]
Bronze stud from belt or harness.
Frechen sherd (base).
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM), compiled by W. Milligan (NCM), 8 October 1986.

Half a book clasp, 15th to 16th century.
Decorated half-round sheet or strip ? Medieval.
Nuremberg jetton, unlettered.
Three Roman greyware sherds, 1st-2nd century.
Sestertius of Hadrian, dating AD 117-138.
