Summary

It is recorded that an Early Bronze Age stone axehead and flint dagger were recovered from a gravel pit in the parish of Tottenhill. These may be the remnants of an Early Bronze Age burial group.

Pre 1970. Stray Find.
"Found in a gravel pit" at Tottenhill:
Stone battle-axe of Beaker (Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age) type. See drawing (S1). Noted in (S2).
Petrology N.137, Group XVIII quartz dolerite - see (S3) and (S4).

Found at the same time:
Flint dagger of Beaker (Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age) type. See drawing (S5), a reworked version of which was produced in 2011 (S6).

Probably the remnants of a Beaker burial group.
Both objects are held by NCM (NWHCM : 1970.476).
