Summary

It is recorded that an Early Bronze Age stone axehead and flint dagger were recovered from a gravel pit in the parish of Tottenhill. These may be the remnants of an Early Bronze Age burial group.

Full description

Stone battle-axe of Beaker (Early Bronze Age) type 'found in a gravel pit' at Tottenhill. See drawing (S1). Noted in (S2). Petrology N.137, Group XVIII quartz dolerite (S3). See also (S4).

Also a flint dagger of Beaker (Early Bronze Age) type found there at the same time. See drawing (S5), a reworked version of which was produced in 2011 (S6).

Probably the remnants of a Beaker (Early Bronze Age) burial group. Both objects held by NCM (NWHCM : 1970.476). Information from (S7).
