Name:Roman and medieval pottery sherds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1985 by the Fenland Survey recovered a few sherds of pottery, some, and perhaps the majority, Roman in date. One or two were recovered from the western edge of the field, in vicinity of the others found during the previous year. The rest were recovered from other parts of the field, particularly the southern edge.

Full description

2 April 1985. Fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil.
Odd sherds of pottery, some, and perhaps the majority, Roman. One or two from western edge of field in vicinity of others found previous year. Rest from other parts of field particularly southern edge. WPP FM (S1).
