Name:Middle Saxon to medieval settlement

Summary

Fieldwalking identified a possible house or church platform (see NHER 9013). Evidence of occupation from the Middle Saxon to the late medieval period was recovered. This has been identified as the village of Little Hockham. Metal detecting found a 10th century Viking copper alloy sword pommel with gold and silver plating and other finds indicative of Saxon to medieval settlement.
