Full description

Pill box.
Concrete blocks, half round, no wall towards road, suggesting original circular and part demolished.
First noted by Pillbox Survey.
Accurate location by E. Rose (NAU) 18 March 1981.

World War I pillbox, about 1916/18. Destroyed in about 1990. Was situated on crossroads with A140.

NMP mapping has led to the alteration of the centre grid reference for the site from TG 2130 3571 to TG 2131 3569.

The circular pillbox described above and believed to date to World War One is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs from 1969 (S2). The western half is visible on vertical aerial photographs from 1988 (S3).
