The settlement of Roxham is mentioned in Domesday and according to (S1) disputes over enclosures are recorded in 1653. It is marked on Faden's map of 1797 (S2) as being around Roxham Farm (TL 638 997). Although Roxham once had its own church this had been abandoned by the 16th century and its exact location is now unknown. At present the only evidence for the site of the church is a schematic map of 1566 which places it somewhere in the general vicinity of Roxham Farm. See NHER 4464 for further details.
