Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible medieval structures and multi-period finds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1975-1976 recovered a number of prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic end scraper. It was suggested that medieval structures once stood here and that collapsed wells, an undercroft and a hearth had been noted. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1999 and 2016 recovered Roman, Late Saxon medieval and post medieval pottery sherds; undated brick fragments, tile fragments, slag, clinker and nails; post-medieval roof slate; oyster shell fragments; medieval jettons; post-medieval coins; medieval and medieval/post-medieval thimbles and a post-medieval trade weight and button.
