Record Details

NHER Number:15635
Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible medieval structures and multi-period finds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1975-1976 recovered a number of prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic end scraper. It was suggested that medieval structures once stood here and that collapsed wells, an undercroft and a hearth had been noted. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1999-and 2006 recovered medieval and post medieval pottery sherds; medieval jettons; post-medieval coins; medieval and medieval/post-medieval thimbles and a post medieval trade weight.
