Full description

1976. Found in digging pit through fen silt around 6ft (1.8m) deep.
Roman grey ware bowl, imitation Drag 37, barbotine dots and circles, incised chevron.
Complete, but broken and mended with tarry black substance - Sylvia Turner (NCM) suggests shelac-based. If so pot has been repaired in last 200 years and is therefore redeposited.
