In corner of garden of 'Great Yard' a Neolithic quern found, also a large octagonal stone (but with two corners cut off) about 1.8m (6 feet) across and 60cm (2 feet) thick, having a central hole with marks of iron.
Informant believes this to have been a cross base (but how does the iron fit it?). Both retained by owner of property. Information given by to E. Rose (NAU), 25 August 1977.
Informant says he has seen an old postcard showing 'Stiffkey Bridge and cross'.
