From 1:00pm on Saturday and Sunday 13th-14th April, West Norfolk and King's Lynn Archaeological Society will be conducting an archaeological training session in Great Massingham, provided for those people who are interested in learning field techniques .
The training sessions will include: setting up grid squares, test pitting (1m x 1m), shovel test pitting and systematic fieldwalking.
The aim of the two afternoon sessions is to enable people to learn simple field techniques that may be used in archaeological surveys later in the year.
The training will be supported by a Community Archaeologist from the Historic Environment Service, Norfolk County Council.
