Full description
Old Rectory. Visit.
South front three storeys including attic windows in gables; four bays on lower storeys, three bays of gables positioned unequally to facade. All have been originally 'long-low' 17th century types, now with taller windows inserted. Two storey porch occupies one bay, upper window altered and doorway pedimented; benches in wall inside, two groups of three octagonal chimneys - one group in line, other L-shaped. North wall (with later extensions) is flint with brick patches; flint and stone buttresses.
Dated to 14th century by R.R. Clarke (NCM), certainly medieval.
E. Rose (NAU), 13 October 1976.
Listing 1983 (S1) notes two blocked pointed windows in medieval wall with brick relieving arches. Spiral stair opposite entrance with turned balusters in attic. 17th century roof. Contemporary fireplace.
E. Rose (NAU).
