Summary

In 1965 a Roman pottery kiln and pottery sherds were found during the laying of pipes. In 1991 four Roman coins were found at the site.

Full description

1965. While digging trench for pipe laying, pottery kiln found.
Folded beaker, sherds and kiln debris. Late 2nd century and early 3rd century.
Known as Kiln 2. About 320m (350yds) north of Grange Farm.

November 1986. Footings excavated for a rearward extension of 13 Weston Drive, which ought to be a little west of the site of kiln 2.
Brown soil over natural sand; no finds, no structures.

13 Weston Rise (not Drive) is in fact southeast of the site of the kiln (at about TG 5154 1221).
