Full description

1850.
Querns found.
Information from Ordnance Survey.

Ordnance Survey seem to be in error, as R.R. Clarke (NCM) points out.

(S1) refers to 'very perfect quern found 1.2m (4 feet) down three years ago' (=1849) and 'another some years before'.
There is nothing to suggest the second was found on the same site, and the only evidence for the findspot of the first is the Ordnance Survey symbol. Is the second the 'Roman remains' found in 1833 'in Horsey Marshes below the present low water mark' that caused such worry in (S2)?
E. Rose (NLA).
