Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 recovered prehistoric worked flints, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds, a post-medieval tile fragment and a Roman coin, while a Roman quern stone fragment and post-medieval jettons were recovered as stray finds during farming work. Metal-detecting between 2007 and 2014 recovered further prehistoric flint flakes and Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds and coins as well as a post-medieval jetton and token and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval crotal bell; a medieval/post-medieval chafing dish or furniture fitting and a post-medieval furniture fitting, finger ring, harness fitting and crotal bell.
