Full description
September 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a medieval to post medieval road are visible on aerial photographs ((S1) to (S4)). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3883 3043 and were previously recorded as part of NHER 16015. Intermittent cropmarks of a metalled or compacted surface flanked by parallel ditches follow a curving alignment for 660m between TG 3854 3051 and TG 3913 3024. This road is marked on both Faden's 1797 (S5) and Bryant's 1826 (S6) county maps but does not appear on the Happisburgh tithe map of 1834 (S7).
