Summary
Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2016 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; a Roman coin and Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman copper alloy vessel handle and rim attachment; a medieval finger ring and a medieval/post-medieval lead weight.

Full description
Before 21 January 2004. Metal-detecting.
Roman cast in one copper alloy upper part of handle and rim attachment with hinge for missing lid of vessel, flagon or jug. Two pierced hinge lugs project upwards between the stubs of the rim attachment which would have been soldered onto the top of the vessel. The handle begins with a D section and as it turns downwards the section becomes ovoid (8 x 7mm). A thumb rest projects upwards at the turn. All three breaks are ancient.
