Summary

A Roman silver vase, containing a small hoard of silver Roman coins, was found during ploughing in 1801. The current whereabouts of the vase and the coins are unknown.

Full description

September 1801. In ploughing in a field.
Silver vase (20cm high, 8oz weight) found containing small coin hoard.
7 coins of Antoninus Pius, Julian, Valentinian I, Honorius, Arcadius, Magnus Maximus.
Concealed in about 395 to 400AD.

The coins are held by the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1950.36). The vase was auctioned in 1941, and its whereabouts are now unknown.
