Summary
Metal detecting in this area during 2003 and 2005 recovered an Iron Age strap fitting or harness mount and a medieval horse harness pendant. The latter of these was shield-shaped and featured the arms of the de Bohun family (who included Earls of Hereford and Essex). Metal detecting in 2009 recovered one medieval coin and a seal matrix.

Full description
August 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval copper alloy horse harness pendant, shield-shaped, surface of metal corroded, blue enamel survives. Azure a bend [Argent] cotised between six lions rampant [Or]. BOHUN, de, Earls of Hereford and Essex.
