Full description
April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks are relatively straight and regular, covering an area measuring approximately 80m north to south by 70m east to west (S1). Their location suggests the saltmarsh was being embanked and protected by the time they were constructed so a late medieval, or more probably post medieval, date is likely for their construction. Further elements of the system may have been levelled or ploughed flat by this time.
M. Brennand (NMP), 24 April 2002.
