Summary

Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age worked flints, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval brick; undatable iron slag; lava quern fragments and a medieval or post medieval vessel repair were recovered during fieldwalking before 2002, while metal-detecting in 2014 recovered a post-medieval pottery sherd as well as Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; a medieval rotary key, strap-end, strap mount and the end-cap from a scale-tang knife; medieval/post-medieval vessel repairs, a thimble and a copper alloy vessel fragment and post-medieval harness mounts.
