Summary

Metal-detecting between 1998 and 2017 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval token; a post-medieval jetton and Late Bronze Age, medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include part of a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead; a medieval harness pendant, strap-end, buckle, book fitting and silver annular brooch and a post-medieval knife end-stop, probable vervel, a weight and a hooked mount from a sword belt.

September 1998. Metal-detecting. Finder's Field 13. [1].
Fragment of Late Bronze Age socketed axehead (S1), cutting edge and tiny portion of socket only, fresh break. 1200 to 800 BC. Weight 49g.

1999. Metal-detecting. [2].
Medieval lead token. One side has a relief six petalled flower, the other an eight pointed star crossed by a circle. In the triangles thus formed are pellets.
Medieval silver annular brooch with pin missing. The small circular frame is made of square section with each face decorated with tiny pellets and then twisted to resemble a cable. The pin construction is small and circular in section.
The silver brooch was retained as potential Treasure but subsequently disclaimed.
