Full description
January/ February 1999. Metal detecting.
Two arms from a bronze trefoil brooch, with grooved geomtetric decoration. In the centre is a reserved triangle with three grooves around; then in each arm is a double-grooved border with paired oblique nicks, forming a king of christmas tree motif within. The breaks are old and the brooch is corroded. On the reverse arm has a broken transverse pin bar lug: the other has a catch plate. Anglo-Scandinavian. Late 9th century /early 10th century. See (S1).
