Summary
In 1997 a Late Bronze Age hoard of four socketed axeheads and fragments of at least two swords were recovered during metal-detecting. Further metal-detecting between 1999 and 2019 recovered Roman pottery sherds; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval coins; medieval jettons and Middle Bronze Age to Roman and Middle/Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undatable copper alloy ring; a Middle Bronze Age spearhead; a Late Bronze Age sword and spear fragments; a Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age leather-working knife; an Iron Age bracelet fragment and brooch; Roman brooches, a finger ring and bell; a Middle/Late Saxon strap-end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval bell, key, cosmetic mortar, seal matrix, swivel from a leash and furniture fitting and post-medieval cloth seals, a coin weight, furniture fitting, spur, knife end stop, toasting fork and lead toy plate or dish.

On northeast corner of this field, (S1) has written 'double tunnel'.

4 socketed spearheads: 1 in half plus fibre (?wood); 1 complete; 1 near complete, tip missing; 1 complete with solid wood.
At least 2 swords: 2 fragments; 2 fragments; and ?+ 2 fragments (handle with 4 rivets). Depth about 450mm.
Roman coin found by [1] in 1998 during measuring in of find spot.
Visited by A. E. West (NCM) and A. Rogerson (NLA), 30 meters south of find spot on 30 January 1998.
