Full description

August 1995. Metal detecting rally. Context 1 [1]. [3].
A Roman `fibulae' was allegedly found to the southeast of here at the rally.
The foot of an Early Saxon cruciform brooch was also recovered. It has an old break immediately above intact catchplate which has transverse grooved decoration. There are double half annulet stamps across the uppermost part, above the eyebrows and down the 'nose' from the eyes to divide the nostrils. The brooch also has triangular stamps in vertical rows next to facets towards the top and on the damaged terminal below the nostrils. Concave reverse below catchplate. See (S1).

February 1997. Metal detecting. Context 2. [3].
Roman and medieval coins, a Roman brooch, a medieval horse harness pendant (S2), a fragment of a post medieval lead toygun, and a post medieval token were found.
