Summary
Metal detecting in 1995 recovered a lead weight or spindle whorl, a Roman brooch fragment and some unidentified copper alloy objects. These were found in spoil tips during roadworks for a bypass.

Full description
1995. Metal-detecting.
Found with metal detector on spoilheap dumped from construction of A143 Brockdish to Needham bypass. Neither location of spoilheap nor origin of spoil recorded.
1 Lead weight or spindle whorl.
1 Roman bronze dolphin brooch fragment.
Bronze objects.
Attempt will be made to get further information from finders and proper identification.

The origin of the objects cannot be more precisely obtained other than that they were from spoil heaps from the roadworks. For full identifications see report in file.
