Name:Late Bronze Age hoard and multi-period finds

Summary

A scattered Late Bronze Age hoard of various copper alloy objects, including socketed axeheads, knives and fragments of swords and spears were found by a metal-detectorist in 1995. Metal-detecting in 2012 recovered further similar fragments plus a copper alloy ingot, all relating to the hoard. Additional objects found at the site between 1995 and 2012 include a Mesolithic flint projectile point; various Late Prehistoric worked flints; medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a medieval harness pendant, buckles, a holder for a lamp or censer and casket key; a medieval/post-medieval silver annular brooch and copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval rotary key.

Scattered Late Bronze Age hoard found by [1] and [2].
Limited excavation by A. Rogerson (NLA) and D. Wicks (NLA) at grid reference, context 1 produced no more objects. See (S1)-(S19).
