Summary

A Late Bronze Age hoard of a socketed axehead containing a number of crushed copper alloy items, including the blade of another axehead, and metal working fragments. The axehead, which may have belonged to a Bronze Age metalworker, was found by metal detecting in 1990.

Full description

1990. Stated to have been found by metal detecting.
Drawings sent by NCM to NLA in February 1992, dated July 1991 and February 1992, showing Late Bronze Age socketed axe containing crushed items (S1); blade fragment of another (S2), and possible casting fragments (S2).
