Summary

Metal detecting in 1993 recovered a variety of finds dating from the Roman to the medieval period. These include a Roman cosmetic mortar, a large Viking trefoil brooch and a possible medieval button. The brooch is an incredibly significant example and is now in the collections of the Norwich Castle Museum. A Roman coin was also found.

Roman cosmetic mortar, surface very worn. See (S1).
Lead ?medieval ?button; disc with six sunken leaf-shaped fields radiating arms with three lines in relief on each. Traces of stud on reverse.
Incredibly significant Viking trefoil brooch. See (S1), (S2) and description in file.
