A barrow was destroyed in 1826 to 1827 and spears and 'other relics of war' were recovered. These might be of Saxon date.

Full description

About 1826 to 1827.
In removing a barrow near stream called Whitemill on the boundaries of Beetley and Hoe near side of road to Dereham, spearheads and 'other relics of war' found nearly a mile south of Pot Close (= Spong).

?Near Gravelpit Plantation;
Spearheads probably Saxon.
