Metal detecting recovered a medieval papal seal of Clemens VI and some medieval pottery. The seal would have been used by the pope to secure a document.

Full description

May 1987. Found while metal detecting. On surface behind new piling on north bank of cut west of St Benet's Abbey, probably in spoil or dredgings.
Large rim sherd of medieval unglazed bowl with flanged rim.
Lead bull of Clemens VI.
