Summary
Earthworks of ditched enclosures can be seen on aerial photographs. Fieldwalking collected medieval pottery and animal bone fragments. A house can be seen in one of these enclosures on a map made in 1802. It is likely that this was an area of medieval to post medieval settlement along the edge of the former common.

Full description
January 1946. RAF aerial photograph.
Shows ditched enclosures, corresponding to those still on recent Ordnance Survey maps and indicative of tofts or moat.
5 June 1973. Ordnance Survey air photgraphy.
Earthworks.

Winter 1985 to 1986. Found on surface after ploughing.
Animal bone fragments and four large sherds of Grimston green glazed, quite fresh looking.

September 1998. Visit.
Noted land now arable, with considerable undulation showing many of the mapped features. Southeast enclosure at higher level than that to northwest. (S1) shows house in south corner of southeast enclosure. Probable medieval settlement on edge of former common.
