Full description

Remains of St Mary's Church?
Informant states that at grid reference there is a patch of medieval walling built into the rear of a cottage garden wall. He has seen 'an old map' which marks St Mary's as approximately here. He believes that R. R. Clarke's (NCM) marking of site at NHER 3596 is based on this map. Clarke having mistaken the pond shown on Ordnance Survey for the churchyard, it being only a few yards from the masonry above noted.
E. Rose (NAU), 11 July 1983.
