Summary

Investigations in this area during the 1970s-90s recovered a large range of objects. Finds included prehistoric burnt and worked flints, pieces of late prehistoric pottery, a Roman coin, part of a medieval knife and a post medieval nail that had been moulded into an animal-shaped toy. Metal-detecting in 2010-11 recovered a medieval plaque from the horizontal arm of a cross.

1977. Location [1].
Scatter of pot boilers and Neolithic/Early Bronze Age flint industry with several flakes, some utilised, and a good scraper. Prehistoric gritted sherds.
Late Saxon/early medieval pottery including two rim sherds.
Material not seen.
From information given to NCM in 1977, passed on to NAU in 1982.
