A fragment of a Neolithic flint axehead and pieces of Roman pottery were found in a field at Harpley Dams. The Roman pottery is said to come from a 'large Roman site'.

Date unknown, pre 1980. 'Field cut across by new road at Harpley Dams'.
'Large Roman site' reported. Pottery found. Also fragment of Neolithic flint axe.
Material not seen.

The axe fragment is finder's catalogue No. 7C and is catalogued as 'Wilson's Farm'.
