Summary

In 1951 a section was cut through the city ditch and St Benedict's Gate. The south side was examined as well as a section on Barn Road. This work recovered two sherds of Saxon Ipswich Ware and one sherd of handmade grey ware dating to the 6th century.

Section cut through city ditch and St Benedict's Gate. South side examined as well as section on Barn Road.
