Summary

Mid to late 16th century H shaped house. On the chimney stack in the upper floor are traces of a wallpainting of flowers, animals and swags. Under a cupboard beside one of the fireplaces a shoe dating to no later than 1610 has been found. This would have been put there during construction as a charm. There is also an 18th century brick barn.

Said to be of 1545, seems nearer 1570, with later alterations. Fragmentary wall painting.
