Full description

Early 16th century timber-framed three-cell house with very ornate beams. Later alterations.
Excavations and investigations during restorations in 1982 recovered large fragments of reused carved limestone blocks, a horse jaw (perhaps left as a charm), an early 16th century jetton, a reliquary in the form of a book and an early medieval fragment of pottery.
Restored in 1982 by [1].
See (S1).
E. Rose (NAU), 1982.

(S2) notes that one of the rooms in the house is much better beamed than the others. It is tentatively suggested that the building may be a guild house with a meeting room paid for by its members.
A. Cattermole (NLA), 8 January 2008.
