Parish:BRANCASTER, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Full description

Silver Icenian coin. Inscribed with SIT on it.
Obverse. Crescents addorsed on vestigial wreaths.
Reverse. SAE (SARMV) (? =SIMENOI of Ptolemy) Horse right.
See (S1) and (S2).

As noted on (S5) reference is made in (S3) to a Ptolemaic coin from Brancaster. It is suggested on (S5) that this is probably actually one of the Egyptian coins now recorded as being from Burnham Market. See NHER 1749 and NHER 21881 for further information on Egyptian coins from Burnham Market and Burnham Overy.
E. Rose (NLA). Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 30 March 2016.

(S4) records further sources.
See (S5) and (S6)
R. J. Rickett (NAU), 8 May 1990

October 2005.
This sounds like an inscribed silver coin of the SAENV type.
M. Dennis (NLA), 6th October 2005.
