Full description

Airfield, called Mattishall; night landing ground 1916, aerodrome late 1916 to 1918.
See (S1).

(S2) tells of how in 1919 a sale was held of the air field buildings, and how the hospital was bought by North Elmham Parish Council for use as a War Memorial Institute. The actual building apparently no longer survives as it is stated to have been 'on the site of the present Small Hall of the Institute'.
