Summary

An area of medieval ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks, on the ground and on aerial photographs. Metal detecting on the site has recovered a number of Roman coins, a Roman box mount, a possible Roman chain, a Late Saxon strap end, and medieval and post medieval coins and metalwork.

December 1984. Metal detecting finds.
Roman metalwork and coins, medieval coin.

1985. Metal detecting finds.
Roman coins, medieval bull and metalwork, post medieval jettons.

1989. Metal detecting finds.
Late Saxon strap end.

Ridge and furrow exists in the field running approx north to south. Height minimal, but still recognisable as an earthwork feature. All under pasture, cut for hay, or may be grazed by sheep under a Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
