Name:Early Saxon cremation and inhumation cemetery, plus multi-period finds

Summary

Stray finds, fieldwalking, metal-detecting and excavation have revealed the site of an Early Saxon cremation and inhumation cemetery. Early Saxon finds recovered include a large amount of pottery (including decorated sherds), brooches, girdle hangers, sleeve clasps, burnt glass beads, molten metal fragments and cremated bones. A Neolithic flint blade, Roman pottery and medieval metalwork have also been discovered. A round barrow (NHER 3754) recorded close by may be Early Saxon.
