Quarter stater

A quarter stater is a type of Iron Age gold coin. It is about a third of the size of a gold stater. In Norfolk several different types of quarter stater were produced. The designs are often linked stylistically with the larger gold stater coins. Gallo-Belgic quarter staters are also found in the county. These were probably produced on the continent, although some people think they may have been made in Britain.
