1960. Human skeletons found in clearing topsoil for gravel pit extension at Poringland gravel pits.
(Bones kept for C. P. B. Wells, experiments not accessed).

At least twelve Christian burials in probable Late Saxon churchyard located here (1/2 mile south of East Poringland Church according to (S1)), preceding present church.
