Summary
In 1966 a number of Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds were recovered near the river edge. In 1985 some prehistoric flint flakes were also recovered from dredged soil.

Full description
1966. On inlet with sandy beach at low tide. From river bank and water, around 100 yard (91m) stretch.
Two fragments Pingsdorf type pottery sherds, some 13th/14th century green-glazed sherds, Tudor and later green-glaze sherds, 13th century unglazed sherds, and a Late Saxon Thetford ware sherd (very thick ?storage ware) with applied strip with rouletting. Also a sherd of early medieval ware (smooth type), and an early medieval type sherd, as well as some iron slag.
