Full description
1911. Found at 6.1-7.6m (20-25ft) above river in preparing land for orchard at 'Sunnyside'.
At depth of 0.6m (2ft) encased 'in black mass resembling peat, only harder'. Bronze socketed axe ornamented with ribs ending in rings. 125mm long and 60mm wide. ?Same as that pre-1925 mentioned in (S1) against name of R. Gurney.

1982. Grid ref obtained by source whose grandmother formerly lived at Sunnyside and now lives at new house which has been built on site of the orchard mentioned south of old house.
