Full description

February 2014. Rapid Identification Survey. HA 90.
A large oval hollow, measuring about 33m by 27m by up to 1.9m deep (but generally 0.5-1m in depth). It has gently sloping sides on the east, south and west, with the most gentle slopes in the south and southwest. The northwest, north and northeast sides are steep. It is located with Lynford Park (NHER 30470).
The hollow was probably excavated as a quarry for sand and gravel. The gentle slopes on the south and southwest may have been access points.
The hollow is not shown on (S1).
