Four Iron Age pots were found during an excavation carried out by Norwich Castle Museum in 1956. These were found within a patch of darker soil, possibly a pit.

Full description

July 1956.
In base of cliffs at Happy Valley 137m north of Lighthouse.
Iron Age A pottery found.

24 July 1956.
Excavated for NCM by R. R. Clarke, D. R. Howlett, P. Marsden, and D. Vokes.
4 pots lying together crushed, top 45cm below modern surface.
Soot in bottom of urns I, II, and III.
Hole 1.9m deep.
Decoration of Urn I and cordons of Urn II suggest Iron Age A perhaps A2.
Wessex Infuence.
